dynaSCAN PDD - Photodynamic diagnostics
Photodynamic diagnostics represent a modern and sensitiv process for the in-vivo-diagnostic of tumours. Similar to the process of the photodynamic therapy (PDT), a photo-sensitising agent is applied to the skin area that is to be examined, which will be metabolised within several steps.
After enrichment with tumour cells, the composed photo-sensitising agent (protoparphyrin IX / “Pp IX) can be stirred via irradiation with light of a particular wave length and certain intensity so that a effect flourescence occur.
Via optical filter and digital processes the emitted light can be converted into a diagnosticalle conclusive statement.

- photodynamic diagnostic (PDD)
- provides support for diagnostic and therapy control
- optimal supplement to photodynamic therapy
- makes a very precise localisation of the tumour possible
- examination of the patient with ambient light without blinds
- innoucous: without wood-light and UV-protective goggles
- short period of redemption

An examination with dynaSCAN is an important preliminary measure for photodynamic therapy and further treatments. DynaSCAN allows the exact localisation of the skin tumour and to define the boundaries to healthy skin.
Apart from an optimised quality of the following therapy, photodynamic diagnistic and documentation represents an important auxiliary means for an effective doctor-patient-communication. Therapy is documented, sucesses of treatment are verified in an impressive and impartial way.
Microprocessors and modern LED-technology allows an overlapping of a clinical image and the flurouscence-presentation calculated in real-time for a quick and exact localisation of the tumour.
